Mark Bowden CMM, Operations Director
Mark has over 25 years experience working within the marina industry ranging from practical ‘hands on’ management of marina and commercial marine operations, to the planning of new marina developments and acquisitions. Positions held include Operations Director of MDL Management Plc during the period 1997-2001 with responsibility for the operational management of18 marina sites. In 2002 Mark was part of the team that formed Marina Projects and was responsible for the development and operational matters that lead to the successful creation of Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport.
In 2005 he took responsibly for Marina Projects new venture, Endeavour Quay. Over a period of the next two years, the former Camper & Nicholson yard, now renamed Endeavour Quay was developed to provide a unique Marine Trade Centre that focused on vessels of all types over 18 metres and up to 180 tons. The regeneration of this site and the speed at which the business has grown is a reflection of the skills within Marina Projects Ltd.
Mark is an active member of the British Marine Federation (BMF) and over the years has played a positive role in the promotion of UK expertise within the International market place and the promotion of the UK’s standards of marina management, environmental controls and procedures now adopted by the industry worldwide.
One of the first to be enrolled as a Certified Marina Manager (CMM), the internationally recognised marina management qualification, Mark is a regular attendee and contributor at international boat shows and International Marina Institute (IMI) conferences. Mark. is also involved in the BMF sponsored Superyacht UK initiative.
Mark is an experienced yachtsman with an in depth knowledge of the marine leisure industry and has a full appreciation of marina customer expectations This is a fact recognised by Mark and the Marina Projects team and the promotion of the design solutions and service requirements by Marina Projects are based upon modern day international criteria that reflect and complement the highest standards of development.
As part of his role with Marina Projects, Mark contributes fully on all operational related matters including business planning, market assessments, servicing requirements, standards and customer relations. Mark’s standing within the Industry provides ready access to data and research information and Mark will spearhead project specific market research that will update and augment his already extensive knowledge of the international boating and super yacht activity and the developing trends.
