Geoff Phillips BSc Civ Eng, Development Director
Geoff is a civil engineer by profession with senior appointments in the fields of marina development, and residential and commercial waterside property development and project management. Experienced in the masterplanning of comprehensive waterside and marina developments, Geoff has worked in conjunction with development agencies, local authorities and commercial organisations.
Prior to establishing Marina Projects Ltd, Geoff held the position of Development Director for MDL Management Plc with responsibility for the Group’s capital programme and the assessment of marina related business opportunities worldwide. Research and knowledge of the international market and developing trends within the marina industry formed an important aspect of his role.
Since establishing Marina Projects, Geoff has been able to focus attention on the developing international scene and over the past three years has applied his experience and input to projects in the Caribbean, France, Russia and Italy. Geoff is currently working closely with the trade and investment section of the British Consulate on the establishment of a British Marine Development Group to focus on marina developments in Italy, Spain and France.
In the UK, Geoff continues to provide professional advice and guidance to a range of clients including Government Development Agencies with a particular focus on the marine sector initiatives promoted by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). Geoff is currently taking the lead on the following significant projects:
- Woolston Riverside — this major regeneration project will provide facilities for super yachts and large production boat manufacture in Southampton.
- East Cowes outer harbour project — marina study — masterplanning and business case development of proposed marina and event berthing facilities
- Eastside Project, Gibraltar — masterplanning of the marina elements and development of the marina strategy for a major new mixed-use waterfront development.
